The Beauly Angling Club - Rules

1	Anglers must move down one metre at every cast, irrespective of whether or not any other anglers are waiting. This rule will be rigidly enforced.
2	Members must always carry their Permit whilst fishing and must produce it if requested to do so.
3	All catch returns must be submitted to the Beauly Centre or an Office Bearer by no later than 31st October, using the relevant pages. Failure to complete the return will result in cancellation of membership. BAC have a legal requirement to submit an accurate annual catch return through the Lovat Estate office to the Scottish Executive.
4	Great care should be taken as Members will be held responsible for any damage to lands, boats fences etc. The Club will not be held responsible for any damage arising or caused.
5	Members are entitled to fish with fly rod, line and flies on those parts of the River leased/rented from Lovat Estate. The fly fishing will begin immediately below Lovat Bridge and end at Wester Lovat. The North and South estuary fishings will start at Wester Lovat.
6	Fishing Seasons: Salmon/Grilse & Sea Trout/Finnock- 11th February to 15th October Brown Trout - 15th March to 6th October.
7	The angler arriving first at either side of a Beat, shall have the first turn of fishing that beat, and others shall follow in order of their arrival.
8	An angler, after landing a salmon/grilse, shall not continue fishing, but shall take their turn after those waiting. If they lose a fish, they may continue.
9	No boat fishing, unless boats are provided by the owners of fishing leased/rented by the Club.
10	Use of gaff is strictly prohibited, a tailer must not be used to land a fish that is to be returned, and net bags should be knotless.
11	Members fishing the North and South Estuaries are reminded that only fly, spinner, or even bait are allowed and that fixed lines, multiple rods, bubble floats etc. are strictly forbidden.
12	Only the recognised methods of fishing shall be practised as laid down by the owners of any waterrs the club may have permission to fish.
13	All fish less than 300mm (12") in length must be returned irrespective of their condition.
14	Anglers may take only 2 migratory fish per day from BAC controlled water. No migratory fish may be offered for sale. BAC guidelines are'catch one, set one free'.
15	Members must not take, possess, transport or offer for sale Bass of less than 360mm (14.2") in length as doing so is strictly illegal.
16	The aforementioned Rules supercede all previous and must be adhered to by all Members and Guests. Any amendments to the Rules during the course of the year will be notified to all Members.
