NEWS LETTER
JANUARY 2008

The 2009 season is well under way although the water has mainly been too high to fish. Several fish have already come off the private beats in the last 3 weeks, so they are there.

Membership 2009 : the great majority of members managed to get their renewals in by the end of March – only 2 outstanding at that point. So well done to us all. Even more gratifying was the fact that the majority of senior citizens sent donations with their renewal forms. Thanks to all those who did this.

We have more Junior members in 2009 than we have had for a long time. However since we no longer count Junior members towards the overall total we still have room for new Senior members. Now that we are totally responsible for all the fishings and pay a level of rent which reflects that fact the Club would really benefit from a full membership. So if you know anyone who wants to join then please either let a member of the committee know or direct them to our website.

The other successful aspect of the membership renewal was the number of people who provided e-mail addresses this allows the Newsletter to be sent digitally and saves the Club money.

Competitions : As people will know the Club pays for teams to take part in two competitions – Loch Meig and Loch Watten – one team for each competition. This year the competitions take place as follows:-

Loch Meig - 25th April – this coming Saturday
Loch Watten – 23rd May

For further information or to be part of a team contact Neil MacKenzie 01463 782991 (evenings) or n.mackenzie131@btinternet.com.

River Walks : John Szarkiewicz is going to do 2 or 3 river walks, one this month, and a couple in May, showing people the beats, pools and access etc. If you want to go on such a walk then ring John on 01463 782631 or e-mail him Szarky@dsl.pipex.com. John will contact those who have already indicated interest.
