Following the AGM the costs of Permits and fishing tickets for River and Firth again remain at last year’s level.
River Opening Day will be held on Saturday February 14th 2026, at the Downie Fishing Hut, 11am
There will be a toast, refreshments and a raffle.

Following the AGM the costs of Permits and fishing tickets for River and Firth remain at last year’s level.
River Opening Day will be held on Saturday February 15th 2025, at the Downie Fishing Hut.
The Ghillies have offered us the hut for another year and there will be a toast, refreshments and a raffle.

Opening Ceremony to be held at the Downie Fishing Hut on Saturday 17th February at 11am.
All welcome, more details nearer the time.
The River remains Category 1 for the 2024 Season.

Tags Wanted   – Reward
 
Marine Scotland is tracking salmon from July 2017 and would like your help.
 
If you catch a salmon with a tag near the dorsal fin, then please remove it by cutting through the plastic cord to remove the acoustic tag
(black cylinder). Please note that the colour of the cord may vary from yellow.
 
Please send the acoustic tag, also with a note of day and location of capture, to:

Please enclose your name, postal and email (if applicable) address and we will send
you £20 in reward.
 
If you have any other information about the fish (eg a photo, length, sex) then please
include it when you send in the tag. However, please do not delay the safe return of the
fish to the water to obtain any such information.
