The Season’s first Salmon
Toby Hardwick has been out again – and successfully caught the first Salmon of our 2026 Season.
This was caught at the bottom of Beat 2 closer to the Caravan Park side of the river.
A second fish managed to get off the hook by swimming upstream towards Toby.
Ladies Day pictures – 21st March 2026:
The Club organised a Ladies Day for casting tuition, fly-tying instruction and River craft.
These are the people who turned up to teach and be taught.
Many thanks to Margaret and Ann for preparing the sumptuous lunch, the instructors who gave their time for the day and to those who signed up for their very kind donation to the Club and to Jim Braithwaite and Toby Hardwick for taking the time and trouble of organising the day.

All gather at the fishing hut to await the piper leading us to the banks. A wonderful day considering the rest of Scotland’s weather situation.
Jim Braithwaite gives the poem and offers the Toast to the river with our Junior member Murray Mackenzie making the first cast.
The piper then pipes our return to the hut as the hot sausage rolls and bread pudding are taken to ward off the chill wind of the morning.
