Armadale tracking project

Tags Wanted   – Reward
Marine Scotland is tracking salmon from July 2017 and would like your help.
If you catch a salmon with a tag near the dorsal fin, then please remove it by cutting through the plastic cord to remove the acoustic tag
(black cylinder). Please note that the colour of the cord may vary from yellow.
Please send the acoustic tag, also with a note of day and location of capture, to:
Armadale Tracking,
Freshwater Fisheries Laboratory,
PH16 5LB
Please enclose your name, postal and email (if applicable) address and we will send
you £20 in reward.
If you have any other information about the fish (eg a photo, length, sex) then please
include it when you send in the tag. However, please do not delay the safe return of the
fish to the water to obtain any such information.
With thanks
 The Armadale Tracking Team

Notes from the AGM 24th November 2016

Apologies were taken and Minutes from the previous AGM were read and accepted.

Matters arising covered the provision of keys for the gate down to the Ferry Pool. Extra keys have now been made available.
Improvement to disabled access is being discussed and may take some time and effort to achieve.

The Accounts were scrutinised and discussed, especially in the light of falling membership due to the fishing conditions. Next year should be more productive if
we move into a Category 3 water but, although our net financial psotion remains stable, in real terms we are losing money as a club and the discussions were held on what
could be done to improve this and also improve the uptake of visitor permits.

The President’s report covered the probability of moving to a Cat 2 river next year and what catch position we as a club should adopt. A River Board meeting is to be held in December(see below)
and tagging will be discussed. It is considered an unlikely move. It has not been a good season for BAC with 3 salmon and 4 grilse registered. Sea trout are 100% returned with 42
and 47 Finnock – up on last year, and the Returns are over 90%
The fish pass counter at Kilmorack to the 46th week shows 4358, within 1 fish on last year’s count with some weeks to go.

There are new owners of the Lovat Caravan Park and a meeting has been held  – outcome later on that.

Loch Fada did not fish too much although a 3 3/4lb fish was caught on the last day of the season.
The Downie fishings was more successful than last year with a lot of sea trout going through and enjoyed.
